According to legend...

The king was finding it hard to breath and so he had given instructions for a palace to be built in Valldemossa and a series of little houses at the foot of Es Teix. The air was clean and pure there and he enjoyed going out for strolls. One day, he reached the spring at Na Rupit with his retinue. When he got there, he was thirsty but he had no glass. Son Pancuit’s tenant farmer brought him a small silver vessel. The grateful monarch chatted to him for a while. The fellow seemed so sensible and discrete that he decided to test his loyalty. He confessed a state secret to him and made him swear not to tell anyone unless he had seen the king’s face one hundred times...
