Saint George’s Horse’s Hoofprints
Valldemossa

A place of legend!

According to legend, Saint George the knight helped King James to rid Majorca of the Saracens. At one of these battles, Saint George’s horse was galloping along a very uneven track toward Valldemossa harbour, known as the Moor’s Pass. Suddenly, the horse leapt onto a rock with such force that the marks of its four hoofprints were left there. Now, two centuries later, you can still see them imprinted on the stone.
