A place of legend!

The born of a city is the place where tournaments were held and medieval knights jousted. Palma’s bornlinks the squares known as Plaça de les Tortugues and Plaça de la Reina and it stands on the ancient site of La Riera torrent, which was diverted in 1613. It has witnessed knightly celebrations, jousting and tournaments, like those of 1577 with the participation of all the city’s knights in honour of their patron saint, Saint George, or those of 1646 to celebrate the peace signed between two rival groups, the Canamunts and Canavalls.
