According to legend

Na Ruixamantells is a strikingly beautiful fairy, a seductive water creature. She has eyes the colour of aquamarines, a slender body and an enigmatical smile. She dresses in mantles of all the colours of the rainbow, making them fly in the wind. They say she lives in an enchanted palace on the sea bed, protected by seals, with red columns of coral and mother-of-pearl windows illuminated by shimmering-coloured fish. In her gardens, sea anemones and iridescent algae grow. She rides on the back of dolphins and sometimes in storms, she rides the waves. She sings, combs her golden hair and enchants mariners who dare set sail in rough seas with her lilting voice.

A brave sailor was said to live in Pollença who one day took to the sea despite the rough waves and impending storm. His beloved pleaded with him over and over again not to set sail, but he was fearless and ignored her..."
