A place of legend!

This legend is a tale of how the lies we tell can turn against us. After having dishonoured young Beatriu Desmur with his calumnies and spent seven years away from Majorca, at war, the young knight who had slandered her returned to the island and learnt of her death. He confessed his sin and, in penitence, he was punished with keeping watch over the young damsel’s body all night long, on his own, in Palma’s Sant Francesc Church. The following morning, his dead body is said to have been found beside the coffin, with his tongue cut out. What happened that night is a mystery. Some say that ghosts too can savour their revenge.
