The Abbot of La Real
Palma

According to legend...

The king–a hyperactive hard-working fellow–is said to have gone on a visit to La Real monastery. He was received by the abbot, who was fat and lazy. When the king saw him to be so plump and complacent, he decided to make fun of him. He asked him three questions to keep the abbot awake at night and said that if he managed to answer them in three days, he would give him his weight in gold. If, on the other hand, he failed in his answer, the king would send him off to sea for being so foolish!
