S’Alzinaret–which is close to Cala Sant Vicenç in the municipality of Pollença–is a group of caves dug over 3,000 years ago. According to legend, the pre-Talayotic settlers who lived in the area called the native species of herb that grew on Cavall Bernat’s rocks mermaid’s eyes.This herb cannot be found anywhere else in the world and it was used to make a syrup that could cure all ills. They say that the head of the tribe was a wise man, skilled at understanding the properties of plants, and that he knew how to make a mixture of herbs with miraculous medicinal properties."
