This building is also known as the old "Costura" (Sewing School) because it was a girls school until the mid 20th century. It was built in two stages: the first in 1868, when the first two floors were built; and the second in 1921 when the third floor was made. Despite this, the row of semi-circular arches on all the floors give it a certain unity. Later it housed Es Cavallets chess club and today it houses some of the Town Council’s offices.
