This statue is related to a 16th century tradition, according to which when bandit Benet Esteva was on his deathbed, a brother from the monastery tried to make him repent of his sins. When Esteva refused, drops of blood began to ooze out of the statue of Christ. Since them, this statue has been the object of great devotion in Sóller.
