This sculpture was made by Tomàs Vila in 1941, commissioned by Rector Joan Mir and funded through local donations to commemorate the fact that no inhabitant of Valldemossa died as a result of the Spanish Civil War.
The monument is made up of a pedestal on which there is a bas-relief of Saint Catalina Tomàs, to whom this fact is attributed, together with an obelisk and a figure of Christ giving his benediction at the top.
