This sculptural monument by Italian sculptor Antonio Tantardini was commissioned by Archduke Ludwig Salvator as a tribute to his first secretary, who died in 1877. It was erected at Miramar in 1880. Made of white marble, it shows the young man emerging from his grave and gazing at an angel just in front of him.
