This sculpture by Enrique Broglia was given to Palma City Council in 1984 and, on the base, there is an inscription dedicating it to the 5th centenary of the discovery of America. It shows a broken disc, with fragments that seem to be fleeing from a crack in the disc. This contrasts with the solid heavy stone base.
