This is the second film in the trilogy inspired by this character from the Thousand and One Nights, the first being The 7th Voyage of Simbad (Nathan Juren, 1958). As with the first film, Majorca was chosen as the setting to recreate this strongly Oriental story. Ray Harryhaussen once again was in charge of the special effects.
