Portocolom lighthouse was designed by Emili Pou and inaugurated in 1863, although it underwent alterations on several occasions in the 20th century. In 1925, a second floor was built in the house and in 1918 and 1966, the lighthouse's height was twice raised, finally to 24.5 metres.
