This monument was jointly made by architect Guillem Forteza, who designed the garden, and sculptor Esteve Monegal who made the bronze sculpture that rounds it all off. Funded by donations, its construction took almost 10 years due to discrepancies between the two men. The sculpture shows a child with a bird in his hand: a symbol of the poem La Serra, which was awarded the Flor Natural prize in the 1905 Barcelona  Jocs Florals Awards.
